Sunday · Vinyasa / Deep Flow

Weekly at The Yoga Shala.

A class that will appeal to those seeking a sometimes vigorous, strength-oriented sequence with a dynamic series of asanas firmly rooted in classical yoga.

Though there is a strong emphasis on alignment, this class is about movement, connecting strong poses to your breath, and will often includes a challenging Vinyasa "flow" including core work, poses like vashistasana (side plank), bakasana (crane), and occasional inversions.

The Deep Flow class is all levels, but may be a little challenging for totally new yoga students or those who want to stick to the basics - but we welcome everyone: if a pose or sequences is too much for you, just chill out in child's pose (or whatever pose you like) until you feel comfortable rejoining!

A class that integrates classical asanas and core movements/stretching at a mellower pace, giving you time to go deep or to play with the edges of your ability. A balanced ratio of standing and seated poses, active stretching, often with one or more inversions each class.

Great for those who wish a deep practice with longer holds. Athletes seeking lengthening, or for the regular yogi/ini, this class is a nice counterpoint to vinyasa classes.
